Want To Live In Pattaya But Need A Job? Here Are Some Ideas!

Date:

Pattaya is one of Thailand’s most vibrant and exciting places to be, whether you are a holidaymaker or a full-time resident! Once a sleepy little beach town, Pattaya is now a top international tourist destination that boasts a wide variety of diverting activities, luxurious accommodations, and captivating entertainment options.

Pattaya is located just 150 kilometers southeast of the capital, Bangkok, making it an easy place to access. A large number of expats have moved to Pattaya in order to spend their time playing golf, windsurfing, waterskiing, scuba diving, and generally frolicking on the beaches and in the bars. Because of its great popularity, you can always find a house for sale in Pattaya Thailand that is ready for you to move into and begin your refreshing new lifestyle by the sea!

If you are not yet at an age to retire but think that Pattaya sounds like it’s made for you, fear not, for there are some interesting job opportunities available in Pattaya for foreigners! Here are a few to consider looking into!

Hospitality – Pattaya is a well-known tropical paradise that draws people from all over the world all year long, so it is possible for an English-speaking foreigner to find a position in hospitality management. Ideally, you would have previous experience in the field, but a background in communications or public relations might be enough to get your foot in the lobby door!

There are always new job openings coming up, from front desk staff to hotel managers. Having a foreigner on staff is considered to be a mark of distinction by the Thai owners, and if you can speak a few foreign languages in addition to English, such as German, Swedish, Chinese, or Japanese, it will look really great on your resume when you apply for those positions since so many guests come from abroad. Having some skills in the Thai language will also be a big plus!

Teaching – That old standby for foreigners in Asia who just don’t want to go home but need something to do! It is no longer as easy to land a cushy teaching job these days as it used to be for the average ‘jack of all trades, master of none’, the old ‘if you can’t do, then teach’ idea is long gone and schools demand real credentials for their career educators. If you have that, you are a shoe in!

Food and Beverage – Hand in hand with hospitality, there is always a demand for some foreign faces in this field. Because Pattaya is a major international holiday destination it has hundreds of restaurants, bars, and cafes that cater directly to foreign tastes. If you happen to be a skilled chef or bartender there is a good chance that you can get hired by the more posh establishments. If you have solid training and experience in Food and Beverage management you are very likely to find that your skills are in demand in some upscale venues, but be warned, it is a very competitive industry so to get the kind of position that is going to make you good money you really need to impress!

Exciting Pattaya is always open for business!
