Japanese food has been popular for a number of years now because not only does it involve so much taste but it also provides you with so many healthy options as well. There is a reason why the Japanese people live to be the oldest in the world and many hold the world record at any given time. These people live for over a century and then some so they must be doing something right when it comes to the lifestyle and the food that they eat. You must know by now that there is a very low incidence of obesity in Japan and that is something that needs to be considered.

It’s likely that you are used to the proverbial knife and fork to eat in your life so far but maybe it’s time to pick up some Japanese chopsticks and start trying some food that has been recognized worldwide as some of the best.     1. Try some sushi & sashimi – You will find that these are two of the most popular Japanese dishes available in Australia and as our medical practitioners keep telling us, it is important that we try to incorporate lots of seafood into our diets. Sashimi is made up of very thin slices of raw fish that can be served with your favourite soy sauce, wasabi, or other condiments. The fish can be tuna, salmon, or any other healthy protein choice. Sushi is rice that is paired up with raw seafood again and it is rolled in seaweed.
    2. Try some tempura – It’s true that we are told not to eat a lot of fried foods but this is one that you can try at least once. The dish can be prepared in many different ways but the batter itself is made up of the usual flour, eggs, and water. What you choose to cook is entirely up to you but many Australians like to use fish, certain vegetables and certain meats as well.
    3. Try some yakitori – It’s likely that you have tried this kind of thing before in Australia but in a different manner. It describes skewered food and there can be many different kinds of needs and different vegetables that are cooked directly over a grill. We are used to the Australian barbecue here in our country and so this is something similar. This is food that can be eaten as a snack or as a side dish that you might want to enjoy with your favorite pint of amber nectar.
