Not everyone is up for this kind of activity, but it doesn’t hurt to experience it for once, right? Doing the usual way of relieving stress like watching a movie, eating your favorite food, doing exercise-everything the normies do, might be too dull and wouldn’t be enough to relieve you from your stress. Fear not! Because in this article, you’ll learn five unconventional ways to reduce your stress.
1. Range Shooting
Everyone is welcome to try out and explore the world of shooting. If you’re the active type of person, this might be perfect for you. You don’t have to go directly for those big rifle guns, but if you want to, why not? Rifles can be overwhelming but don’t fret! Handguns will be just right for you, such as a Glock 19 or M&P 9mm c handgun for the range. There are instructors inside the range that will teach you how to use and fire a gun.
If it’s too nerve-racking for you, you can watch other shooters in the range. They are really satisfying to watch, especially when you choose a tactical kind of range. Some of these players are great at their game and there’s a lot of hilarious moments you can laugh at. For the most part, people in the range are friendly too.
2. Doing Extreme Activities
If you’re a big adventurer and you’ve been locked up at home or stuck at work for a very long time, it is really time for you to go out. Doing extreme sports like bungee jumping, cliff diving, cave diving, rafting, paragliding and etc. All of these will keep your heart pumping and adrenaline rushing! It’s a really insane yet worthwhile experience. You won’t even get a chance to think about your stress and problems when you indulge in these activities. You’ll be busy thinking if you’re going to survive or not! It’s life and death, man!
3. Go to a rage room
What better way to blow off some steam but let them all out, right? In rage rooms, you can pretty much do everything you want. Scream at the top of your lungs, swing that bat as hard as you can, throw that plate with all of your strength, destroy as many things as you want. After all, is done, you will be amazed at how relieving it is like something heavy was lifted off of you.
4. Acupuncture
It may look scary and painful, but it really has medicinal effects. Acupuncture inserts needles into your body, and they are usually placed on the “acupoints” found all over your body. As traditional medicine says, it releases endorphins, our body’s pain killers, and helps relieve body aches. Also, serotonins are encouraged to flow out during these sessions, calming you down and shifting your mood.
5. Show up at any of your friend’s house
You can choose whoever you like to visit. Your closest cousin, your grandparents, or your dog lover uncle, or your best friend. Visiting a new environment will help you breathe again if you feel too suffocated already. Surprise visits are nice, but if you want, you can always give them a heads up that you’re coming over. You can both chill at their house, spend the night there if you want, or go out somewhere else.
These activities are not what you usually do if you want to distress, but they are really effective. Horseback riding, competition shooting, whitewater rafting, there are more things you can do to get your mind off of work, school, or business. It doesn’t even really matter if you spend a few hours or over the weekend doing these things, what’s important is you get to recharge your drained, overworked mind and body. Always remember the golden quote, “health is wealth.”
