And it is that as it is known, it is usually associated with a possible failure that indicates that our mobile phone has passed to a better life. However, there are certain ways to solve this problem and thus continue to enjoy our iPhone without problems.

In general, this problem is usually associated with a failure in the hardware of our equipment, such as some damaged internal component, although it is also usually associated with a failure in updating the operating system of our iPhone, which causes corruption in the system, resulting in the infamous black screen.

If your iPhone screen is still black even after pressing the power button several times, you may be experiencing this problem. These are some of the causes that can lead to your mobile suffering from the black screen of death.

Causes of Black Screen of Death on your iPhone

These are the possible reasons why your iPhone only shows the black screen of death:

Hardware Damage: If your phone has been dropped, received a blow, or got wet, it could consequently damage some internal components of your iPhone. This damage is the main cause of the appearance of the black screen and that your mobile does not work at all. In these cases, the only way to solve this problem is to take your mobile to a mobile repair service center, so that the problem can be diagnosed and solved.

Software update failure: In the event that your mobile has not been the victim of any fall, blow or immersion in water, the cause of this failure is most likely a problem with the software of your mobile. This usually happens when there is an iOS update that does not complete, which would lead to the operating system getting corrupted and consequently showing a black screen.

Common Methods to Fix iPhone Black Screen Issue

Once you have made sure that the black screen of death problem of your iPhone’s device is due to a software failure, you can proceed to any of the following methods so that you can solve such an annoying problem. These are the most common ways you can use:

Perform a Hard Reset on your iPhone

The easiest way to solve the problem of the black screen on our iPhone is to stop all the processes it is performing. According to the iPhone model, the way to perform a Hard Reset has changed.

iPhone 6 or earlier: For these models, what you should do is press the Home or Home button on your device next to the power button, until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Usually, you should wait around 15 seconds for this process to work in case iPhone wont turn on. Once the logo appears, release the buttons and wait for your mobile to turn on normally.

Overall, this is a simple and useful tool to recover lost iOS data, without compromising security.

iPhone 7: For this iPhone model, Apple made a change to the device’s home button, where this button basically disappears and we can’t press it if the iPhone won’t turn on. To perform a Hard reset on the iPhone 7 what you must do is press the power button and the volume down button for approximately 20 seconds or until the Apple logo appears on the screen, then release the buttons and wait for your iPhone to return to the life.

iPhone 8 or iPhone X: For these models, the apple company has decided to change again the way in which the Hard Reset can be carried out, so none of the previous methods will work for you. To perform an iPhone 8 Hard Reset, the first thing you should do is press the volume up button for at least half a second, then release it and press the volume down button for equally, half a second. Release it and press the power button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

Charge your iPhone Battery

In some cases, we may become very extreme with the situation of our mobile and we do not take into account the simplest solutions. That is why many times, what usually happens is that the battery of our mobile has been completely discharged and that is why it does not turn on. If the battery of our iPhone is completely exhausted, it can take between 15 to 25 minutes to turn on again from the moment you connect the charger, so we will have to be patient.

Restore Factory Settings

If once you have tried the above methods, your iPhone still does not react, the only solution that may remain is to restore all the information to its factory state. It should be noted that once you do this step, you will lose a lot of information unless you have saved a backup copy.

To make an adjustment to the factory settings on your iPhone you must follow the following steps.

  • Firstly, we must place our mobile in DFU mode, we will achieve this by pressing the Home and power buttons at the same time until the logo appears on the screen, then, you must hold down only the home button until you see the iTunes logo and a USB cable.
  • Then connect your iPhone to the computer, where you have previously opened iTunes.
  • The program should recognize your iPhone in restore mode and give you the option to start the process.
  • Follow the instructions so you can restore your iPhone to factory settings.

Generally, any of these methods should help you to solve the problem of the black screen on your iPhone. If the problem still persists, the only solution you have left is to take your mobile to the nearest Apple Store or to a mobile repair shop, in case your warranty has expired.
